Who we are

The history of UMFEL company begins in 2001, when part of SIA “SHIP REPAIR BASE” (which was a subsidiary of the Latvian Shipping Co.) was established engineering and metrology division, consisting of: workers Laboratory of automation, Construction and Technology department.
Among the many responsibilities of the staff divisions carried out various measurements, evaluation and monitoring functions of states under the supervision of organizations such as Lloyd Register, Det Norske Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Germanischer Lloyd, Russian Maritime Register. All processes were controlled by the quality system ISO9001.
Later on, SIA UMFEL has been founded as the separate company.

What we are doing

At the present time, the area of activity SIA “UMFEL” is divided into three main areas:
• Various measurement and control in the field of shipbuilding, ship repair, machine building. Employees of our company more than 20 years worked with such companies as the Latvian Shipping Co, Ship Repair Base, Riga Shipyard, Tosmare Shipyard, Western Shipyard Group.
• Advice, support repair and maintenance work in the field of operation of power & auxiliary units. We have repeatedly carried out similar services collaborated with such business, the Enterprise as the Latvian Shipping Co, Riga Shipyard, Argo Shipping, Vangažu Sildspēks, Rīga International Airport, Diesel Service Group.
• Measurements and advice in the field of electromagnetic radiation and the safety of residential and jobs, which are produced by experienced professionals in accordance with EU regulations: DIRECTIVE 2013/35 / EU DIRECTIVE 2013/59 / EURATOM.
The equipment produces measurement data produced by firms: QARTA-RAD, SOEKS, ANGIOSCAN ELECTRONICS. All equipment has been tested certificates of conformity to EMV TESTHAUS GmbH.
